Caption 1. 32nd session of the ESC
The Economic and Social Council of the Republic of Macedonia held its 32 session on 27.2.2017 in the presence of the members of the Council, the representatives from the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia, the President of CCM, PhD Zhivko Mitrevski and the Vice President, M.Sc. Robert Simonoski. The meeting was chaired by the President of the ESC, the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Mr. Ibrahim Ibrahimi, and several agenda items have been reviewed, including the Annual Work Program of ESC, the activities of the Council and as a separate item for consideration at further sessions of ESC was the review of the Social Progress Protocol submitted by the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia.
The meeting reviewed the current situation in the context of the Decision of the former Interim Minister Remenska, and it was concluded that ESC condemns the act of reaching a Decision to change the person for representation of CCM and the unions participating in this procedure and determined that this act exceeded the powers given since it has been adopted on the basis of an invalid documents submitted by unauthorized persons, without proper procedure laid down in the relevant acts and laws and this Decision is contrary to the provisions of the Conventions and Recommendations of the ILO referring to the freedom of association and non-interference of the authorities in the freedom of action of trade unions and employers.
In the unanimously adopted conclusion, the ESC welcomed the act of the Minister Ibrahimi of annulment of the Decision of Remenska adopted against the Conventions and Recommendations of the ILO and against the legislation. At the same time, ESC shall make efforts for a consistent respect of the international labor standards and norms regarding freedom of association and activity of the social partners in compliance with the existing Conventions, Recommendations of the ILO and other legal acts of the social partners.
The ESC shall also make efforts for further analysis and amendments to the legislation in order the right to freedom of association and action of the social partners to be fully exercised.
On this session, the ESC established 4 permanent Committees within the ESC.
