Today, the President of SSM, Darko Dimovski, and the Chief of the Cabinet, Slobodan Trendafilov had a meeting with the textile workers from Bogdanci whose employment contracts have been illegally terminated, to inform them about the specific measures taken by SSM, which resulted in inspections and detection of certain irregularities by the employer. The meeting was also attended by the Mayor of the Municipality of Bogdanci, Blaze Shapov.
Seventy employees of Brebo-eco tekst from Bogdanci were manipulated by the employer and forced to sign blank papers with which first their employment was transformed from indefinite to fixed term, and then terminated.
SSM stood in defense of the textile workers and all measures were taken against the employer, who in these extremely complex conditions left more than 70 textile workers and their families without existence by manipulation.
In cooperation with the Director of the State Labor Inspectorate, an extraordinary inspection was immediately carried out in the company in which a situation contrary to the law was found and inspectors detected violation of labour rights, after which the inspectors prepared a report and instructed the employer to correct the deficiencies and to annul the adopted decisions for termination of the validity of the employment contracts for fixed working hours.
We consider that according to Article 259 of the Labor Law when the inspector finds undeclared workers, as the inspector stated "It is not disputed that the workers have not concluded another employment contract and have not signed Annexes to employment contracts after 27.11.2020", that workers at the time of the supervision did not have employment contracts, it should oblige the employer to conclude an employment contract with them for an indefinite period of time and not to dismiss them for a period of 3 months.
It is important that The Labour Inspectorate and SSM have filed charges to the competent public prosecutor.
Once again it has been shown that the good cooperation between SSM and the Labour Inspectorate gives efficient results, and workers only through SSM, can quickly and efficiently, achieve protection of their labour rights.
