Caption 1. The blockade on the border crossing Evzoni
The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia is deeply concerned of the blockade by the Greek farmers on the border crossing with Greece. The President of CCM, PhD Zivko Mitrevski has sent Letters of Appeal to the European Commissioner, Mr. Johannes Hahn, the Head of the EU Mission in RM, Mr. Samuel Zbogar, the Ambassador of the Republic Greece in RM, Dimitrios Yannakakis, the Greek unions, as well as the European and International Trade Union Confederation.

Dear colleagues, brothers and sisters,
The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia and the affiliated trade unions, express their concern about the blockade of the border with our country that has negative consequences already being visible on the economy, and that shall have further effects, deteriorating the economic and financial operations of the companies, thereby directly affecting and endangering the material and socio-economic conditions of the people working in those companies.
The blockades of the Greek farmers of the border crossing Evzoni may further cause other financial implications for the national economies, which would surely reflect further negative impact on the livelihoods of the people working in these companies that can be reflected by delayed salaries, non- payment of salaries etc.
In the interest of preserving and ensuring the economic stability, but also the material and socio-economic stability of the workers, we are sending you a Letter of Appeal and we do hope you that you shall be actively engaged in overcoming this situation in order the disrupted traffic communications to be normalized.
We do hope that your involvement and the involvement of all other relevant entities shall ensure normalization of traffic communications which is a basic prerequisite for further development, not only for business communications but also represents a foundation for improving the socio-economic and material situation of the workers in both countries.
