CCM demands measures regarding COVID-19 to be fully respected

Having in mind the recommendations and conclusions of the Government and the Ministry of Health regarding the COVID-19, in which, one parent of children under 10 years of age, to be released from work due to the closure of kindergartens and schools, CCM calls all employers to respect this obligation and to release workers from work obligations.

This recommendation must be fully respected by employers in both public and private sector.

We appeal to the authorities, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and the State Labor Inspectorate to immediately sanction any failure to comply with this recommendation.

CCM on behalf of all workers, whenever it receives information that recommendations are not being complied with, shall intervene and report to the relevant institutions and take all actions within their competencies and sanction anyone who fails to comply with the recommendations and the measures.

In light of the increased danger of spreading COVID-19 we propose that this measure to be part of justified absence from work within the period provided by the conclusions and recommendations of the Government, to be regulated by immediate amendments to the General Collective Agreement for the private sector and the General Collective Agreement for the public sector stipulating that the employee is entitled to paid leave in cases to be determined by the Government and the Ministry of Health and that to be mandatory both for public and private sector workers and employers.
