Today’s meeting of CCM with the Energy Regulatory Commission of Macedonia

The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia will participate in the preparatory meetings of the Commission. CCM will previously receive all demands of the companies for amending of the energy prices, and that will be the basis of CCM’s standpoints and proposals.

This is the agreement that was reached at today’s meeting between CCM and Energy Regulatory Commission of Macedonia.

CCM’s President Zivko Mitrevski said for the media before the meeting on which  were also present the Presidents of the trade unions affiliated in CCM that a family pays for heating 7000 to 9000 denars per month, being 33,5% to 35% of the Trade Union minimum consumer’s basket.

Tratde unions participate in the work of the European Energy community and we should follow that example in Macedonia as well.

On the reporters’ remark that energy prices are economic and not social category Mitrevski responded that CCM is interested only about the impact on citizens’ standard.

There has to be mechanisms for prices regulation, and also those prices should be discussed by the Social and Economic Council.
