Caption 1. Opening of the Conference
In the period from 2-4 October 2018, in Stockholm, Sweden, the Youth Committee of the European Confederation of Trade Unions organized a Conference titled "Boosting unions’ participation to guarantee quality transitions and employment to young people in Europe". Representatives of the Youth Sections of Trade Unions from Europe, who are members of the ETUC Youth Committee, took part at this conference.
Caption 2. Topic of the Conference
Representatives of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia on this conference were Irena Ivanovska, President of the Youth Section of CCM (СМССМ) and Ivan Pesevski, representative of СМССМ.
The participants on the conference had the opportunity to exchange experiences on the activities undertaken by Youth Sections in order to improve the transition from education to quality employment of young people, as well as their involvement in the processes of preparation, implementation and evaluation of youth policies, with a special emphasis on the Youth Guarantee.
In the framework of the conference, the President of the СМССМ, Irena Ivanovska, had a meeting with the President of the ETUC Youth Committee, Victoria Nagy, on which they discussed the future activities for implementation of youth policies, both at the national and international level and the President of the ETUC YC emphasized the support for the activities of CMCCM by the ETUC and its members. Also, as part of the conference, the participants had a several study visits in: the headquarters of the Trade Union LO Sweden, the company Coca Cola, the Delegation for the Employment of Young People and Newly Arrived Migrants and the Employment Transition Fund.

A special guest at the conference was the Minister of Employment of the Kingdom of Sweden, Ylva Johansson, the representative from the European Commission, team leader – youth employment, Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, Elodie Fazi, the ILO representative, Michael Watt and Dejan Bojanic, Vice President of the European Youth Forum.

What was concluded at the Conference itself is the need to build strong partnerships between trade unions and relevant stakeholders to create better policies for young people in Europe.
