Will anyone hear us?
Our rights are workers' rights as well!
In conditions of global health, but also economic crisis caused by the corona virus that shook the world, the Youth Section of SSM (SMSSSM), together with the young employees, members of trade unions from the region and Europe joins the celebration of the International Youth Day, August 12.
In our country, according to official data, since the beginning of the crisis, almost 12,000 people have lost their jobs, and almost 3,300 of them are young people under the age of 29 (not counting those working in the informal economy). Every 4th person who have lost his job is a young person under 29 years, which further aggravates the situation with youth unemployment in the country which is among the highest in Europe, (35%).
Therefore, we want our voice to be heard and we demand from all relevant stakeholders in the society, not only declaratively, but realistically to provide greater protection for our labor rights and to provide secure jobs, greater social and economic security and inclusiveness in the creation and implemetation of youth policies.
We, as young people, want freedom and a right to join unions, because we are aware that the collective fight is a fight for a better tomorrow for all.
