The President of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia, Darko Dimovski and the General Director of PE National Forests, Nacionalni Sumi, Zoran Gjorgjiev, had a meeting today on which the situation in the public company related to Corona COVID-19 virus and the challenges faced by workers and management in this Public Enterprise were discussed.
In the past period, the President of SSM and the General Director were in constant communication in order to pay the salaries to the employees, which to the mutual satisfaction of serious efforts by the management of the company was paid yesterday on 1.6.2020, and joint efforts are made that until 15.06 .2020 and the salary for the month of May, to be paid by which the challenges for timely payment of the salary to the employees will be completely overcome.
At the meeting, the General Director, Zoran Gjorgjiev informed that the company is facing serious challenges due to the health crisis and productiona and performance had been decreased by 100%, but still in the past period there is no reduction in the number of employees in PE National forests amounting to more than 2,247 workers.
The President of SSM, Darko Dimovski pointed out that a large number of workers address directly to SSM for protection of their rights due to the inactivity of the President of the Union of SSHDE where they are members and where in the past no one advocated for the protection of their rights. Given that the President of SSHDE is not able to protect forest workers, and workers' rights are more important than personal interests, SSM at the request of employees directly involved in protecting the rights of these employees and will do the same in the future.
At the same time, the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia will send a special request to the competent institutions and the Government, for the need for financial support of the company in accordance with the adopted Decisions, in order to timely service the salaries of workers whose number is more than 2,247.
The President of SSM Darko Dimovski and the General Director of PE National Forests, Zoran Gjorgjiev agreed that the health crisis must not turn into an economic crisis and will continue to work together in the coming period.
