OBLIGATION OF EMPLOYERS TO PROTECT EMPLOYEES ACCORDING TO CONSTITUTION, LAW AND COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS

The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia reminds those employers who in these difficult moments want to reduce the salaries of workers contrary to the Labor Law and the General Collective Agreement for the private sector, that according to the Constitution, citizens have the right to subsistence for themselves and their families, right to social security, protection and insurance stipulated by law and collective agreement.

We point out that in accordance with Article 115 of the Labor Law, monetary claims regarding employment expire within three years from the date of occurrence of the obligation.

Such a situation will pass, but we emphaisise that on behalf of the workers in the coming period we will file lawsuits for all unlawful and contrary to the Collective Agreement wage reductions for those emplyers who will abuse this situation because of their selfishness.

All unlawful and contrary to Collective Wage reductions will cost employers far more in interest and court costs after overcoming this situation, and further infringement of employment rights is a criminal act under Article 166 of the Criminal Code.
