The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia has reviewed the Draft-Law on Amending the Law on Minimum Wage in the Republic of Macedonia and gives the following
PROPOSALS AND OPINIONS
The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia supports the proposal to increase the minimum wage to 12.000 MKD for all workers. We deem that this shall contribute to the improvement of the material condition of the lowest paid workers and shall be an incentive to increase the salary of all other workers.
CCM disagrees with the proposal contained in Article 1 of the Draft Law on Amending the Law on Minimum Wage referring to Article 2 of the Law on Minimum Wage, proposing to add three new paragraphs defining the term “performance per output" after paragraph 1 (from Article 2 in the Law).
CCM proposed Article 2 of the Draft Law on Amending the Law on Minimum Wage to read as following:
The minimum wage is the lowest monthly amount of the basic salary, which the employer is obliged to pay to the employee for full time work.
CCM does not agree that the minimum wage should be conditioned by - a performance per output for which the proposed amendments to the Law, which have already been adopted by the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia, are foreseen to be determined solely by the employer and based on criteria determined only by the employer.
