SESSION OF THE PRESIDENCY OF CCM- ADOPTED THE PROPOSAL FOR PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

In the direction of transparency of the procedure for preparation of the Extraordinary Congress of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia, we would like to inform that on 25.10.2017 the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia held its 22nd session of the Presidency of CCM, on which among other things, as an agenda item was the Decision- proposal for presidential candidates for the Extraordinary Congress of CCM that shall be held on 11.11.2017.

Pursuant to the Decision on presidential elections for the Extraordinary Congress of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia No. 02-372/4, from October 13, 2017, the deadline for submitting proposals for a presidential candidate was 25.10.2017, until the session of the Presidency of CCM. The submission of the proposals for a presidential candidate is in accordance with the Criteria for proposing and election of members of the bodies and office- bearers in CCM no. 0201-49/7 from 11.2.2015 adopted for the previous 19th Congress of CCM held on 21.5.2015. Within the foreseen deadline, the following was submitted: Decision- proposal for a presidential candidate from the Union of SUTKOZ No. 0302-242 from 20.10.2017, submitted along with a Program and CV; Information from the Union of UPOZ No. 0302-354/1 from 24.10.2017 and Information and Request for support from the Union of MPS No. 0302-1049 from 18.10.2017.

In accordance with the aforementioned, the Presidency of CCM discussed and reviewed the three candidates for a President of CCM in the direction whether they meet the foreseen criteria.

I. The proposal for a presidential candidate submitted by the Union of SUTKOZ, by which Darko Dimovski, the President of SUTKOZ and Acting President of CCM was being proposed, was supported by 12 branch trade unions affiliated in CCM (document in attach):

1. Trade Union of the Workers in catering, Tourism, Communal and Housing Economy, Handicraft and Protecting Associations of Macedonia (SUTKOZ);

2. Trade Union of Civil Engineering, Industry and Design of Macedonia (SGIP);

3. Autonomous Trade Union of Health, Pharmacy and Social Protection of Republic of Macedonia;

4. Trade Union of Workers in Textile, Leather and Shoe Industry of Republic of Macedonia (STKC);

5. Trade Union of Industry, Energy and Mining of Macedonia (SIER);

6. Autonomous Trade Union of Workers in Energy economy of
Macedonia;

7. Trade Union of Chemistry and Non-metals and Metals of Macedonia (SHNM);

 8. Trade Union of Postal and Telecommunication Workers of Macedonia (SPTRM);

9. Trade Union of Workers in the Trade of Republic of Macedonia (SRTM);

10. The Trade Union of Graphic, Informatics, Film, Publishing and Paper Production of Macedonia (GIFIH);

11. Multiethnic Trade Union of Education of Macedonia, (MESO);

and

12. Trade Union of the workers in Defense and Security (SOB),

i.e. 2/3 of the trade unions affiliated in CCM, comprising 43.288 union members.

II. Following the Information from the Union of UPOZ for a proposal for a possible candidate for President of CCM, by which Peco Grujovski is being proposed, he had received a support from 5 branch unions affiliated in CCM (document in attach):

1. Trade Union of the Workers in Administration, Juridical Authorities and Citizens’ Associations of Macedonia (UPOZ);

2. Trade Union of the Workers in the Agro-industrial Complex of Macedonia (AGRO Trade Union);

3. Trade Union of Workers in Traffic and Communications of Macedonia (SRSVM);

4. Trade Union of Workers in Forestry and Wood Industry and Energy of Macedonia;

5. Trade Union of the Financial Organisations of Macedonia (SFDM),

i.e. that comprise 16.053 members.

III. The proposal for a presidential candidate from the Union of MPS, adopted at the meeting of the Executive Bureau of the MPS on October 18, 2017 by which Aco Antovski was nominated as a candidate for President of CCM was supported by 1 trade union affiliated in CCM (the Macedonian Police Union), i.e. comprising 6882 union members.

The support and presidential candidates from the branch unions are being adopted by their highest bodies.

Pursuant to item 1, line 7 of the Criteria for proposing and election of members of the bodies and office- bearers in CCM no. 0201-49/7 from 11.2.2015, it is envisaged that:

“in addition to the other criteria, when determining the list of candidates for a President of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia, the presidential candidates must be supported by the union from which the candidate is being proposed, plus by at least one third of the unions affiliated in CCM and whose members comprise more than 1/3 of the membership in CCM. One union affiliated in CCM proposes only one presidential candidate."

Based on the proposals, discussion and fulfillment of the criteria, the Presidency of CCM, on the session of 25.10.2017 determined that ONLY the Proposal for a presidential candidate, submitted by the Union of SUTKOZ, which proposes Darko Dimovski as a candidate for the President of CCM, meets the necessary criteria.

The proposal for the presidential candidate shall be submitted to the Council of CCM on the session scheduled for November 3, 2017 in accordance with the procedure and the acts of CCM.
