SSM demands subsidies for the June salary to be paid directly to workers' accounts

Encouraged by the shortcomings and abuses that have come to light in the past and after our findings that workers are being paid a lower salary than the one for which employers received state aid, and in some cases the employers have not even paid a salary at all, SSM demands this measure to be continued but the subsidies for the June salary to be paid directly to the accounts of the workers.

The Public Revenue Office informed that it is in the process of analyzing the companies that have been paid financial support and the data on their calculated and paid salaries. For companies where irregularities will be identified, the Public Revenue Office will ex officio submit the data to the State Labor Inspectorate and will act jointly and in coordination.

Pursuant to Article 6 of the Decree of Financial Support for Employers, affected by the health and economic crisis caused by the COVID-19, the employer who has used financial support to pay salaries is required to return the received financial means in full, together with the interest in accordance with the Law on Tax Procedure, if after the control by the Public Revenue Office and / or the State Labor Inspectorate it is determined that the employer has not fulfilled the conditions from Article 3 paragraph (5 ), Article 4 and paragraph (2) of the Decree.

The PRO will start with the controls since has received complaints for non-compliance with this measure.

After the reaction of SSM, the PRO together with the Labor Inspectorate will have intense controls in all those companies that received financial support of 14.500 denars.
