During the months of April and May, the Government adopted several decrees with legal force to provide financial support to employers affected by the health and economic crisis caused by the COVID-19, for payment of salaries for the months of April and May 2020.
SSM has received a series of complaints indicating that some of the companies that are beneficiaries of financial assistance from the State for payment of salaries in the amount of 14,500.00 denars, have abused the Labor Law, paying smaller amount of salary than the one for which they received financial assistance.
Therefore, SSM addressed the Public Revenue Office for information, which companies, beneficiaries of financial assistance, has paid a salary lower than 14,500.00 to the workers.
Also, SSM addressed the State Labor Inspectorate for taking all appropriate measures.
We inform that SSM will use all legal instruments at its disposal, in order to prevent the abuse of employment rights and to provide to the most affected workers a basic living conditions until the crisis is finally resolved.
