WORKSHOP DEFINING TRADE UNIONS TO YOUTH

The Youth Committee of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SMSSM) together with the Youth Committee of the biggest Trade Union Confederation from Romania, CNSLR F.R.A.T.I.A  is organizing a Workshop titled: Defining Trade Unions to YOUth in the period from 27-30 November 2019 in Skopje. This is the second workshop of the Youth Committees which is financially supported by the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, Bratislava Office.

The purpose of this workshop is to find a way to bring the trade union closer to young people by finding new and innovative tools and methods, as well as to facilitate the exchange of experiences and information between the trade unions of the two countries on the problems and challenges they are facing with.

The workshop was also attended by the Director of FES Office Skopje, Eva Ellereit, ILO representative, Natasha Simjanoska Mechkaroska, and representatives from the National Youth Council of Macedonia.

The workshop also included a visit to the University of South Eastern Europe, where the Presidents of the Youth Committees delivered a lecture to the students on the role and significance of the trade union in the society. Such visits to the faculties are a continuous activity of SMSSM, in order young people to be better informed on their labor rights.
