The Union of SUTKOZ- member of SSM, being the only representative Trade union that represents the workers in the sectors hospitality, catering and tourism expresses its dissatisfaction of not being involved in the discussions between the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy with the representatives of the Hospitality Group.
Meetings between government and employers 'representatives, without Union participation can only be harmful to the workers, and the way out of the crisis cannot be agreed and overcome putting the burden on these workers.
At this moment, we appeal to the employers in these sectors not to threaten workers with dismissals, but to use all measures agreed between the social partners.
Employers can use the measure for the payment of workers' salaries as a financial support for the months of April and May 2020, in the amount of 14,500 MKD per month per worker, and as a union we propose, with a special Decree to provide a delay in the payment of compulsory social security contributions, with the fact that within 6 months after overcoming the difficulties, i.e. the state of emergency, they will be paid into the appropriate funds, a proposal that was already submitted to the Government by the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia at the very beginning of the crisis.
As representatives of the workers, we point out that this situation will pass, but we ask for reconsideration if the workers in the coming period will forgive those employers who will abuse the situation for their selfishness.
