THE UNION OF MEDIA INFORMATION AGENCIES - SMIA NEW MEMBER IN SSM

The Presidency and the Council of SSM unanimously accepted the request from the branch union of the Trade Union of Media Information Agencies - SMIA for joining the family of branch unions in the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia.

SSM as the only representative trade union in the public and private sector always stands in defense of workers and expresses its views publicly and transparently advocates and fights for all workers in all sectors, including the sector of Media Information Agencies, which is recognized by the Trade Union. of Media Information Agencies - SMIA.

Due to the need to protect the workers in Media Information Agencies, SSM together with the Trade Union of Media Information Agencies - SMIA will always stand in defense of the labor rights of journalists and employees in the media, and workers will be able to freely express their views together with SMIA and SSM to exercise their rights.

Members of SMIA can be persons employed in the field of media and other fields. SMIA is a voluntary and independent organization that is fighting for achieving, promoting and protecting on social, economic, labor-law, professional, and other interests of its members

SMIA aims at:                                                                                                                    

- achieving the good socioeconomic and professional status of the membership

- protection of the right to work and employment relationship;

- social dialogue;

- collective bargaining;

- improvement of working conditions;

- rights to social, health, pension, and disability insurance;

- right to daily, weekly and annual leave;

-creating motivation for creative and quality work for the advancement of the profession;

- providing legal guarantees of social protection in cases of redundancy of workers;

- realization of international cooperation.
