The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia and the State Labor Inspectorate have good cooperation, especially after signing the Memorandum of Cooperation in the part of handling the reports submitted through the application SSM - my labor rights, and especially in respect of the Law on Labor Relations in the part of reports for the week non-working day on the territory of the entire State.
On August 14, 2022, in the period from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., members of the Intervention Police Unit, in coordination with inspectors from the State Labor Inspectorate in the area of the Chair municipality, carried out controls in facilities on "Cvetan Dimov" and "John Kennedy" streets with the aim of to determine whether employers comply with the legal provisions that refer to the ban on working on Sundays in those activities that do not fall under the exceptions established by the Law on Labor Relations.
Out of the total number of controls carried out, 12 measures were imposed, i.e. eight decisions were issued for a ban on carrying out activities within 15 days, three decisions for an order to establish an employment relationship for persons found in the facilities without a regulated employment relationship and one decision for admonition for registering the unregistered activity.
The application of the Laws must not be selective, and yesterday's action showed that workers can report violations of the Laws and collective agreements to the SSM through the mobile application SSM - my workers' rights, and after the submitted reports, the State Labor Inspectorate acts quickly, efficiently and indiscriminately.
SSM through its labor patrols in all cities will continue to report irregularities and violations of labor rights on Sundays against all unscrupulous employers who think they are above the law.
