STRONG REACTION OF SSM TO KOVACHEVSKI AND MICKOSKI

70,000 members of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia are unpleasantly surprised by the latest statements of the President of the Government and President of SDSM, Dimitar Kovachevski, and the President of VMRO - DPMNE, Hristijan Mickoski, who as agreed on the same day conspire and demand the retrogression of labor rights, one of them plans by reducing wages to reduce costs, and the other will spend surpluses on electricity, but all workers would work on Sunday, even though Sunday is a non-working day for 92% of workers.

The government, which is experiencing a general strike in the public sector, which is still ongoing where it has not increased wages, is now planning to save and reduce the wages of workers, in conditions of 18.7% inflation and up to 100% increased prices of basic food products and thus further impoverish its citizens and workers by an additional 10%, all because the ruling party SDSM, i.e. the Government, did not increase the salaries of the workers, and the opposition party VMRO-DPMNE increased the salaries of local level, and the same was done by other conscientious branch heads and other political parties where they have officials.

On the other hand, the opposition is acting harder than the Government, and the President of VMRO-DPMNE, Mickoski, as one of the main measures to overcome the energy crisis, proposes to abolish the Sunday non-working day, so that the workers would work on Sundays because there was a surplus of electricity, and the employers would choose on their own another day of the week for a weekly rest, and it is even more terrible that such a statement comes after the judgment of the judges of the Constitutional Court that this right to Sunday as a day for a weekly rest should have been established much earlier for the workers and as such must remain in application.

It is unacceptable in a country like Macedonia that the main ways out of any crisis are on the backs of the workers, on the backs of those who built the country, on the backs of those who elect the Government and local officials with their votes.

Kovachevski and Mickoski probably think that the workers are just voting machinery for them and that the workers are not aware of their labor rights and are not aware of their power.
