The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia, within the framework of the need to promote and strengthen the capacities for collective bargaining with the support of ITUC-PERK, UNION TO UNION organized a workshop which was dedicated to determining the priorities and proposals of the unions and SSM for determining and supplementing the text of the proposals for a new General Collective Agreement for the public sector, and the existing text (good and bad provisions), positive examples edited in branch collective agreements and collective agreements at the employer level were discussed at the workshop.
The workshop was opened by the President of SSM, Darko Dimovski, and the presidents of the branch unions united in the Union of Trade Unions of Macedonia, the coordinator of the International Labor Organization in Macedonia, Emil Krstanovski, and prof. Dr. Aleksandar Ristovski from the Faculty of Law.
Professor Aleksandar Ristovski presented the Analysis of collective bargaining in Macedonia made with the support of the ILO, which the unions use in the processes of collective bargaining and negotiation.
At the end of the workshop, as a result, the text of a new General Collective Agreement for the public sector was drawn up and determined, which as an addition will be proposed to the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia for negotiations and conclusion.
While the representatives of the Government are trying with all their might to abolish the collective agreements, the SSM and the unions are establishing and strengthening their positions for the defense and preservation of the collective agreements and the fight against undemocratic values!
