Today, the Secretary of the Council of SSM, Zlatko Cvetkovski, the head of the office of the President of SSM, Slobodan Trendafilov, and the advisor Kristina Jordanovska had a meeting with the Executive Director of CIKP Center for Research and Policy Making, Dr. Marija Ristesca, Oliver Nachevski from GIZ GIZ North Macedonia and Kristijan Trajkovski from CIKP.
At the meeting, the representatives from CIKP and GIZ informed the representatives of SSM about the activities they are carrying out regarding the reform for simplified work engagement of workers with temporary, occasional, and seasonal work engagements and about the planned activities in this direction that will be implemented in the future.
The representatives of SSM expressed their views and concerns regarding the reform, which if not implemented according to the needs and demands of the workers, could lead to a reverse process and instead of formalization of informal work, formal work would become informal and thus the main losers would be the workers.
It was agreed that in the coming period, the approach of creating the reform will be joint, which should make a significant contribution to the formalization of informal work, and the main goal will be the protection of the interests of workers and the protection of their labor rights, which will require a significant contribution to be made by all competent state institutions.
