STRIKE ANNOUNCEMENT IN (MANU) - THE MACEDONIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES AND ARTS

The members of the Trade Union Organization of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MANU), which includes the employees of the Secretariat and professional units of MANU, will go on strike on February 9, 2023.

This is the first time in the 56-year existence of MANU that the employees of the Secretariat and professional units went on strike.
The reason for the strike is the undignified low salaries of the employees of the Secretariat and professional units of MANU, which are far below the average salary in RS Macedonia, that is, slightly above the minimum salary.

According to the Law on MANU, MANU is the highest independent scientific and artistic institution in the country. The academics of MANU, as well as the scientific associates employed in the research centers of MANU, do not participate in the strike.
