With the election of the new government of the country, SSM delivered its demands in the direction of improving workers' rights, and some of them we have already jointly provided for workers, as was the case with the increase in salaries in healthcare and the increase in salaries in education, the signed collective agreements at the employer level, the payment of jubilee awards, the payment of vacation pay, etc.
Demands that will be a priority for the engagement of SCM in the coming 2025 are:
- Building a systemic solution and ensuring a continuous increase in salaries in the private and public sectors based on the existential needs of workers and their families and the real state of economic and market parameters, economic development, inflation, the cost of living and the prices of basic living products.
- Increase in salaries of public sector employees per the General Collective Agreement for the Public Sector
- Minimum wage of at least 450 euros as a guarantee for the protection of the most vulnerable category of the population as well as for preventing the outflow of labor force to the countries of the region.
- Payment of food costs to all employees in the amount of 20% of the average salary
- Payment of transportation costs to all employees in the amount of the actual costs of coming to and returning from work
- Signing of the General Collective Agreement for the Private Sector
- Limitation of fixed-term work in exceptional circumstances and to a maximum of one year and preference for indefinite work as a reflection of the existential security of workers
- Right to a non-working Saturday and increased control of overtime
- Reduction of full-time working hours to a 35-hour work week, thereby creating opportunities for a more humane working environment and more time for workers to rest, for the needs of their families and their own educational and professional development, which is particularly important because human potential is the most important resource of any country.
- The abolition of the 72-hour work week for strategic projects (construction of Corridors 8 and 10e) was introduced without social dialogue by abusing the European flag to circumvent procedures in Parliament so that there is no consultation with social partners and unions.
- Increased maternity leave, greater parental rights and greater flexibility to reconcile the family circumstances and needs of workers with the needs of the work process
- Full respect for employment rights with a special emphasis on people working on online platforms, which are increasingly numerous and are outside the care and social security system
- Healthy and safe working conditions under new current techniques and technologies applied to workplaces
- Full information and consultation of workers and unions in companies on all issues related to the economic and social situation of workers
- Promotion of union organizing and collective bargaining and strengthening of social dialogue at all levels
- Return of the SSM Workers' Home to workers
THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES!
