POLICE EMPLOYEES AND THE MACEDONIAN POLICE TRADE UNION (MPS) ARE ASLO TAKING THE STREETS AND ARE PART OF SSM PROTEST FOR HIGHER SALARIES!

The official bodies of the Macedonian Police Trade Union (MPS) have made a Decision to participate in the protest organized by the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM), which will be held on 28.01.2026 (Wednesday) starting at 17:00, in front of SSM’s building in Skopje.

The decision was made in accordance with the decisions of the highest bodies of SSM, as well as the Council and Presidency of SSM when an unanimous decision to organize a protest was made in order to increase the salaries of all workers’ by 6,000.00 denars, by increasing the minimum wage in the Republic of Macedonia to 600 euros.

The Macedonian Police Trade Union (MPS), as one of the largest unions within SSM in terms of the number of its members, fully supports SSM’s decision. It is also a decision aligned with MPS request that was submitted to all the parliamentary groups in the Macedonian Parliament before the adoption of the Budget for 2026, where MPS requested a 20% salary increase in the Ministry of Interior, National Security Agency, Armed Forces and the Police.

We call on all members of the Macedonian Police Trade Union (MPS) to take an active and dignified part in the announced protest in as many numbers as possible.
