The President of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (CCM), PhD Zhivko Mitrevski attended the round table organized by the National Council for Safety and Health at Work titled: "Accidents, injuries and deaths at work in the Republic of Macedonia", by which April 28, the World Day for Occupational Health and Safety at work was celebrated.

Each year April 28 is devoted to a specific topic, which is a problem for workers worldwide. This year's motto is "The stress at work: a collective challenge."
During the campaign, dedicated to First of May, the International Labor Day, "Organizing and mobilizing new members" we shall continue to ensure safe and healthy workplaces. This means active involvement and focus of the unions in the implementation of the amendments to the Law on Safety and Health at Work, in which presidents of trade union organizations shall have modified position. Through these amendments to the Law on Safety and Health at Work, we shall be directly involved in dealing with OHS issues, in terms of making analysis on improving the security and trade union control at least twice a year, having a possibility even to stop the production process if needed. The minutes of the inspectors shall be monitored by the presidents of the unions. That is a novelty that shall be implemented this year, said Mitrevski.
This year we shall mobilize all workers in providing safe working conditions.
The President informed that the analyses of the adoption of amendments to the new Law on Safety and Health at Work, from a year ago, are showing an improvement of the situation in this regard.
President Mitrevski also reminded on the adoption of the Law on mobbing, emphasizing the need of prevention of the stress and relevant measures.
The second part of the event was dedicated to the awarding of national awards for good practices in OHS for 2015, in the category of large, medium and small companies. Also the idea of the project "Strengthening of the partnership of civil society and state institutions in the creation and promotion of the right to safe and healthy working conditions- Basic human right" was presented.
