The SSM reminds that it submitted to all the coordinators of parliamentary groups in the Parliament an amendment proposal which means to increase the basic net salary of the employees in the state and local government bodies and other state bodies established in accordance with the Constitution and the law and - the institutions that perform activities from the field of education, science, health, culture, labor, social protection and child protection, sports, the army, the police as well as in other activities of public interest determined by law, and organized as agencies, funds, public institutions and public enterprises established by the Republic of Macedonia or from the municipalities, from the city of Skopje, as well as from the municipalities in the city of Skopje for 2806 denars in net amount according to the increase of the minimum wage published in Official Gazette of RSM no. 41 of February 24, 2022.
Last week, in coordination with the MPs from VMRO-DPMNE, the amendment was officially submitted to the Parliament by them in accordance with the procedures, and we received public support from the political party Levica, as well as from the Democratic Union, the Socialist Party, and the House of Representatives, while the SDSM is calculating, and the DUI still silent.
We are appealing for the amendment in the Assembly to be voted before the announced additional increase in electricity, oil derivatives, prices of basic products, etc., which will cause additional price shocks everywhere and further devalue the salary of the workers.
That is why it is necessary to raise salaries immediately by adopting the rebalance by at least 2,806 denars from 01.07.2022 and these increases can be amortized at least a little, especially if it is known that since the beginning of the year the value of the union minimum basket has grown by 2,980 denars, for one year 4,635 denars of money that is not in the budget of a family and that only for survival in the current month.
We expect all deputies to support the amendment to the SSM submitted by the deputies from VMRO - DPMNE because the cooperation between the representatives of the workers and the representatives of the people is a significant link for the advancement of labor rights and in the future should be a practice for overcoming all challenges.
SSM believes that if the rebalancing of the budget is voted on without providing funds for increasing salaries in the public sector, in that case, it will not be possible to act in accordance with the law and there will be no funds for harmonizing the salaries of employees in the public sector even from 01.07.2022 year as the request of the SSM and the workers neither within the legal deadline for compliance and thus the SSM as the only representative of the workers in the public sector is put before an act of execution and the decision to call and start a strike which will take place on has been made 22.06.2022 the entire public sector will stand up for the worker to survive!
