The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM), with the support of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) - Pan-European Regional Council (PERC) and the Swedish trade unions UNION to UNION, organized and realized professional - specialized workshop for the presidents of the branch trade unions affiliated in SSM that come from the public sector, on the following topic:
"NEW METHODOLOGY FOR CALCULATING THE GROSS SALARY ACCORDING TO THE GENERAL COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT FOR THE PUBLIC SECTOR" that was signed in 2023.
During the workshop, the President of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM), Mr. Slobodan Trendafilov emphasized the importance of using all the knowledge and skills that will be acquired through this training and workshop by all present trade union presidents and representatives of all branch trade unions that unite workers in the public sector to harmonize the Collective Agreements and conclude additional agreements and Annexes that will regulate the new salary methodology for employees in the public sector, according to which all employees in the public sector starting from the month of March 2025, will receive uniform calculation of salary based on the following principle - average salary per coefficient of complexity, which will guarantee the growth of salaries in the public sector between 12 and 15%.

As result of this workshop the presidents of the branch trade unions from the public sector made a joint conclusion that lead to establishing unified positions based on which, together with the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM) they will jointly appear and act before the Government, the Ministries, different institutions, employers from the public sector, or:
*Demand for salaries growth of public sector employees in activities where in 2024, salaries have not yet been increased, i.e. adjusted!
*Demand for the signing of Agreements, i.e. Annexes to the collective agreements, which will determine the complexity coefficients per workplace no later than December 2024, in accordance with Article 47 of the General Collective Agreement for the public sector!
