The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia this year continues to actively be involved in the campaign and the relevant educational and professional assistance to the enterprises in order to ease the payment of the annual leave allowance (vacation recourse).
The President of CCM, PhD Zhivko Mitrevski in his address to the media has emphasized the need for realization of this labor right which was restored in 2013 by adoption of the amendments to the GCA for the private sector (Treaty on amending the GCA for the private sector - Official Gazette of RM No. 189) with effect from 2014. By this act CCM has showed its consistent commitment to restore the once lost labor rights before 2010 and in particular, the amendments to the Labor Law in 2005. The expectations are that this year the payments shall be in the range as similar as the previous year, where over 80% of the companies that exist in the private sector initiated payment of the recourse. The fact that amendments to the Criminal Code have been made (Law on amendments to the Criminal Code, Official Gazette No. 226 of 2015), that stipulate imprisonment for up to 1 year, we do have expectations that this year the total number of 70 139 legal entities, shall implement this labor right.
CCM once again offers the opportunity for assistance to the workers who have been denied from this labor right guaranteed by the collective agreement through the trade union representatives and the unions itself.
This year the payment of the annual leave allowance is 8,909 MKD, while the average salary is 22 191 MKD.
