Unions from the public sector are unanimous that the proposal of the Law on the wage system in the public sector reduces the rights of workers in the wage section and eliminates the possibility of regulating this matter with collective agreements, which will significantly affect the abolition of collective agreements in the public sector in which the salary system and their payment are arranged, and about which SSM warned in the last period.
At today's meeting attended by almost all Unions, Confederations, and branch unions from the public sector, the unions showed their disagreement with the Law on the Public Sector Wage System and showed their unity against the Government's intention to put a hand on collective bargaining in the public sector and with that to abolish collective agreements.
The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia, as the only representative union in the public sector, nor any other confederation or branch union, was at any time neither included nor informed about the preparation of the Draft Law on the Public Sector Wage System which the Government.
The meeting was held within the framework of the Trade Union School organized by SSKC on the subject of the new draft Law on the wage system in the public sector and its impact on the role and significance of trade unions and collective bargaining.
