IF EMPLOYERS DISMISS TEXTILE WORKERS NOW, THEY WILL NEVER AGAIN FIND NEW WORKERS FOR THEM

FIXED TERM EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS ARE THE BIGGEST ISSUE OF WORKERS

While so-called civil society organizations, which only declaratively fight for workers' rights, publicly called and taught employers how to lay off workers and what kind of dismissals should be given in order to facilitate dismissal of workers in companies, SSM has emphasised long time ago that this type of fixed term agreements are the main reason for the huge number of unemployed during the pandemic.

The biggest controversy in the Labour Law is that those fixed-term contracts are unlimited and can be extended every month, keeping the employee in uncertanity and giving them no protection. That is why we as SSM have demanded in the last period that these contracts need to be limited up to 1 year, saidDarko Dimovski, the President of SSM.

If we want to keep the workers in the country, we must eliminate this issue in terms of workers 'rights through fast amendments to the Labour Law.

According to our information, a large number of employers have not extended the fixed-term employment contracts of the workers, and the workers are still working, so we will report all employers to the competent inspection services, with a request to act in accordance with Article 259, paragraph (1).

We appeal to workers not to sign any new Annexes or new Employment Contracts, and all those who think that their Fixed Term Employment Contract is not legal, to report to SSM, and we will fight together with all available means to protect these workers.
