INFLATION 18.7%, THE UNION BASKET 50,244.00 DENARS, THE GOVERNMENT LATE WITH THE MEASURES, THE EMPLOYERS ARE THREATENING WITH LAYOUTS, THE WORKERS ARE GETTING POORER

Inflation has gone out of control and according to the latest calculations, it has reached a high 18.7%, and the Government is not taking anything in the past period to prevent this galloping growth, and no one is stopping the trend of impoverishment of workers and citizens, on the contrary, the bosses are threatening resigned.

The union minimum basket calculated by the SSM reached 50,224.00 denars for September.

The government and employers celebrated October 7, the International Day for Decent Work with indecent wages and indecent work, with poor workers and citizens who can no longer afford the basic necessities of existence.

Due to the increasingly evident price increase, we have a trend of the impoverishment of workers and citizens, and an increase in wages is urgently needed, with which we workers, without worrying about our livelihood, will be able to afford at least the costs of one union consumption basket.

The business and the bosses have made millions of profits during the economic and energy crisis, while the workers are barely surviving and feel the biggest increase in the cost of living of 18.7%.

What workers need are simple, higher decent wages and decent working conditions.

You cannot deal with the rising cost of living without increasing the salaries of the workers, that's why SSM insists that salaries in the state follow the increase of inflation of 18.7% but also the increase of the trade union basket made by SSM.

The SSM demands the consistent application of the provisions of the collective agreements for the adjustment of salaries according to the increase in inflation, the continuation of the validity of the previous anti-crisis measures by freezing the margin for the products determined so far, as well as the expansion of more food products, but also free city transportation to and from work.

Also, SSM requests to re-introduce the measure of the right to a payment card for buying domestic products and paying electricity bills for a certain category of workers and citizens who are most at risk and most affected by the economic crisis, i.e. to distribute value cards for buying food and paying the electricity bills of a certain category of families, especially those whose total income is below the average salary (31,812.00 denars) in a family of four up to the difference from the union minimum basket (50,224.00 denars).

We appeal to the responsible behavior of the government and the business sector, it is time for responsible behavior and solidarity and supports above all for the vulnerable categories of workers and citizens, otherwise, no one will be able to prevent social unrest.
