To dismiss acting the director of the Public Enterprise "Water and Sewerage"-Skopje, Marjan Mitovski, due to violation of labor rights, violation of the Law and the Collective Agreement for communal activities, requested today from the representative trade union for communal activities SUTKOZ at the Union of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM).
"I am calling on the Mayor and the Council of the City of Skopje, and today we will call on an urgent meeting of the Management Board of 'Water and Sewerage' to fire this man who, while still not in office, creates discord and selection, violates laws and collective agreements and does not perform his work tasks in accordance with the law and collective agreement. Mayor, Council of the City of Skopje, do not allow, like yesterday, when you did not have city transport, that you do not even have drinking water in the City of Skopje", emphasized Darko Dimovski, president of SSM and the SUTKOZ Trade Union at a press conference in front of the building of Vodovod and sewerage Skopje.
"We are not saying that we will cut off the water supply, we are saying that it should not be put in a situation where disgruntled workers do that, do not come to their jobs or change jobs and thus cause a cut in the water supply of the capital", President Dimovski added.
The union says that they are outraged by the attitude of the acting the director to the employees because they are assigned illegal duties to inappropriate jobs that are not provided for by the employment contract.
The State Labor Inspectorate and the State Administrative Inspectorate have brought corresponding Decisions on illegal behavior, which confirm the indications of SSM and SUTKOZ through the media and at the meeting with Mitovski that
such procedures are extremely illegal and that responsibility will have to be borne for them.
"We can't send hydro engineers to guardhouses, we can't let special vehicle drivers sit in the base and do nothing because the acting president doesn't like them." the director. As a representative trade union for communal activities, we reported this to the state administrative inspectorate and to the state labor inspectorate. The notices and decisions we received clearly state that director Marjan Mitovski is working illegally and violating labor rights. We submitted it to him, but instead of returning the workers to where the work contract says, he continues to ignore the decisions of the inspectorates," says Dimovski.
Acting Director Mitovski dared to send threatening messages to the workers through messages on the Viber application threatening the workers not to succumb to indoctrination by so-called labor rights defenders and that he gave them this information in order not to be forced to take the most unpopular measure, adopting a new systematization with a rationalization of jobs, which means that whoever does not obey him will be fired.
Such threats to a person who is paid with public money to the citizens of the city of Skopje is inadmissible even in third-world countries, and certainly not in a European metropolis like the city of Skopje.
