The President of The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM) Slobodan Trendafilov, the President of SGIP-union Ivan Peshevski, the President of UPOZ-union Trpe Deanoski, the President of AGRO-union Igor Kitanoski, the Secretary of the Council of SSM Zlatko Cvetkovski and the Chief of Cabinet Lile Petrova accompanied by the high representative of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), Mr. Peter Scherrer - Advisor of the ETUC Secretariat for the member organisations of the Western Balkan region, in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia held a meeting with the President of the Parliamentary Committee for Economic Affairs, Labor and Energy Policy Bojan Stojanoski.
At the meeting, the importance of revitalizing the social dialogue between the Government, trade unions and employers' organisations was first highlited, with the main aim of enacting legislation for the protection and promotion of labor rights, as well as for solving all open issues that are important in our country.
It was pointed out the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) fully supports SSM as a legitimate trade union and legitimate representative of workers, as well as all other trade unions that exist in Republic of Macedonia, and that ETUC above all calls and advocates for a real dialogue with trade unions within the Assembly on all important issues for workers.
In the end, it was jointly concluded that in the coming period the bad practice of the previous government to misuse the European flag when passing laws, with the sole purpose of preventing dialogue on the key laws affecting workers and their labor rights, should be avoided.
