Meeting of SSM and SIER with the management of the Sasa mine: The decision to increase salaries by 10% was welcomed

Today (February 13, 2025) a meeting was held between the President of the SSM, Slobodan Trendafilov, the President of SIER, Igor Gerasov and the President of the SIER trade union organization in Rudnik Sasa, Dragan Milenkovski, with the General Director of Rudnik Sasa, Christopher Colburn and the Director of Sustainability Ivica Talevski.

The immediate reason for the meeting was the latest decision to increase salaries in Sasa, which is the fifth in a row in the last three years, in the amount of 10% of the basic salary. With this latest increase, the total average monthly income of Sasa employees remains up to 70% higher than the national average.

The President of SSM Trendafilov emphasized that the decision to increase wages is the result of the effective social dialogue between the company's management and the SIER union, which is traditionally practiced in Sasa and should set a good example for other business entities and institutions in the country.

For the General Director of Sasa, the latest wage increase occurs in a period of increased operating costs and large investments by the company that are necessary to extend the life of the mine. He expressed confidence that this latest wage increase will be an additional motivation for employees and will have a positive impact on the productivity and overall performance of the mine, which are necessary for its further development and ensuring job security.

The meeting reaffirmed the need to continue the social dialogue on a partnership basis, which will result in solutions that will enable the further development of the company and at the same time, guarantee the well-being of its employees.
