MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT AND PARTIES, YOUR SUPPORT NOW WILL BE THE BASIS FOR OUR SUPPORT IN THE FUTURE

Regarding the text of the Draft Law on Amending the Law on Labor Relations in the part of the provisions that refer to the regulation of the right Sunday as a   non-working day and realistically represent a reduction of workers' rights, The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia considers that the amendments to this fundamental law on labor relations in the country, which provide the basic postulates and principles of social dialogue, are inadmissible and unserious, to be adopted without the participation of the social partners and the ESC.

In this way, the legal provisions are violated and the principles for building national strategies and policies in all areas are violated, and most importantly in the field of labor-legal relations through social dialogue with the active participation of the social partners.

Therefore, SSM, as the largest and most representative trade union, demands that the proposed amendments to the Labor Law be withdrawn from the parliamentary procedure, because no procedure for analysis and full inspection of the results from the current application of the provisions of the law for a Sunday as a   non-working day has been conducted so that the effects of the application of these provisions can be seen, and only then take action to improve the legal text, but not in the direction of reducing workers' rights.

The one-sided, biased, and tendentious addition of activities in the exceptions in which the work process is of such a nature that it can not be interrupted and therefore for these workers, a day off can be another day, shakes the concept and the reasons why the legal changes for the Sunday as a  non-working day were introduced, and it was the largest number of workers to use the day of the week to renew their own workforce, care for family, cultural, educational, sports and all other real-life needs that will provide a dignified life for the worker and his family, and thus will achieve greater productivity, motivation and success in performing work tasks that will result in increased production and productivity in operation.

We point out once again that SSM requests the Draft Law on Amending the Law on Labor Relations in the part of the provisions that refer to the regulation of the right Sunday as a  non-working day, to withdraw from the parliamentary procedure and not to debate or vote on it because the workers and trade unions are excluded from participating in the adoption of the legal changes, as well as because these changes represent a reduction of workers' rights.

MPs and parties, your support will now be the basis for our support for you in the future.
