While the officials provide themselves with enormous salaries according to the last Decision of the Constitutional Court, the workers and citizens who are also their voters sink into poverty.
While an official with his new salary, which has been increased by about 2,000 denars a day, can cover two and a half union minimum baskets, i.e. with just one salary he provides the necessary livelihood for a 10-member family household, workers and citizens struggle to push him the month to the end and to provide their families with only the necessary products for survival, and not for normal living.
Unfortunately, from the public appearances and shopping in the markets of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy for the measures they take to freeze the prices of basic products, the result is only 100 denars reduced value in the Union's minimum basket of the costs of food and drinks, so if in February this year, a four-member family household needed 19,379 denars for food and drinks alone, in March it needed 19,263 denars, or a family was helped insignificantly and symbolically with these measures of the Government.
It's time for workers and citizens to be encouraged and come out en masse with the unions on May 1st and express their dissatisfaction.
