WITH PROTESTS AND NEGOTIATIONS INCREASED SALARIES AND K-15 FOR HEALTHCARE EMPLOYEES

The fight for wage increases for healthcare workers began with the protest on April 8th organized by the SSM. The protest demanded that the Autonomous Trade Union for Healthcare, Pharmacy and Social Protection of the Republic of Macedonia sign the Annex to the Collective Agreement immediately after the election process, correct the coefficients, and increase the wages of healthcare employees.

Healthcare employees are finally receiving an increase in their wages with the November salary that will be paid in December, which for the first time will see them receive an increase of 2,450 and 3,850 denars in net amounts, i.e. it is a correction of the coefficients of 0.233, which means a higher gross salary for all employees of around 3,650 denars in gross amount or 2,450 denars in net amount. Additionally, this annexe has a salary correction of 0.364 for nurses with secondary education and other secondary medical staff, which means 5,700 gross or 3,850 denars net.

The Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia, through the General Collective Agreement for the Public Sector, has also provided higher percentages for salary supplements for healthcare employees, so the basic salary of a healthcare employee is increased per hour by:

- overtime from 29% to 35% or an increase of 6%

- work in three shifts by 5%

- For work on holidays, as determined by law, the employee is entitled to a salary supplement that is due to him when those days are not working days, and salary for hours worked increased by 42% to 50% or an increase of 8%.

At the same time, in the coming days, and no later than December, healthcare employees will receive K-15 of 11,000 denars provided for by the General Collective Agreement for the Public Sector.

The increase in wages is significant because salary supplements will be calculated on a higher base salary, and with the payment of K-15, the benefits are 13,450 denars or 15,850 denars higher income in December, in one month, exactly when it is most needed.
