From September, higher salaries for the nurses and technicians according to their education provided by the Independent Health Trade Union

According to the President of the Independent Trade Union of Health, Pharmacy and Social Welfare, Dr. Ljubisa Karanfilovski, human resources are the most important potential and their good management and recognition is the basis for a successful health system. He emphasises that the European directives in health are aimed at recognizing higher vocational education of nurses and technicians and that their recommendation is that the ratio in the health systems is 50-50%, 50% of higher vocational education with 50% secondary education, and with this approach we are already entering the process of realization and recognition of these recommendations.

In our health system that ratio is still much lower with around 23% for nurses with high education and technicians with high vocational education so we hope that with this approach, with this additional allowance for education means that employees will take the difference between the coefficient from secondary to higher vocational education and will mean their recognition in the health system. - said Dr. Karanfilovski.

Thanks to the excellent cooperation with the two directors of the Health Insurance Fund of RNM who provided the funds, from September this year all nurses and technicians who have completed higher medical school or specialization and acquired 180 or 240 credits will receive adequate compensation for their education. An annex to the collective agreement has been made in accordance with the Law on Health Care. I am glad that this is one way of increasing the income of this category of health workers who have truly selflessly given themselves in managing the COVID-19 pandemic, said the Minister Filipce.

At today's working meeting between the Health Minister, Dr. Venko Filipce, the directors of the HIF of RNM, Stevo Krstevski and Faton Ahmeti, the President of the Independent Trade Union for Health, Pharmacy and Social Welfare Dr. Ljubisa Karanfilovski and representatives of the Association of Medical Nurses and Obstetricians a solution to a problem has been agreed that is applying to nurses and technicians employed in the public health facilities.
