Caption 1. 31st session of the ESC
On 22.06.2016 in the premises of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy the 31st session of the Economic and Social Council (ESC) was held on which the latest amendments to the Law on Employment and Insurance in case of unemployment, the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance and the Health Insurance Law were reviewed, that shall allow continuation of the project "Macedonia employs" for another year with the benefits that were provided in the previous project.
The Economic and Social Council endorsed the package of laws for the implementation of the project "Macedonia employs 2", which provides employment of around 15 and 20 thousand people.
- The package of laws is supported by all social partners in the social dialogue that continuously exercise with the organizations of employers and trade unions. The unanimous adoption of the package of laws for the implementation of the project "Macedonia employs 2" was result of the positive effects in terms of the employers' organizations and trade unions, emphasized the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Dime Spasov on the press conference. According to the Minister, the positive effects are the greater assistance and support to the unemployed citizens or the most vulnerable categories or groups of unemployed people who in the past were less competitive on the labor market and also this legislative package gives more support, greater incentive for the private companies to create new jobs, greater savings of funds for opening new jobs and decrease of the grey economy.
Caption 2. The President of CCM, PhD Zhivko Mitrevski on the session
The President of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia, PhD Zhivko Mitrevski deems that given the fact that all social partners have supported this package, including CCM, shows that this is a very important project, which allows continuity in the fight against unemployment and fostering employment with concrete measures that produce results. The President of CCM also pointed out that according to the analysis in the past, the project gave outstanding results by providing employment for 19 to 20 thousand people.
- The project is important because it provides additional goals - boosting employment, elimination of the unfair competition that is present everywhere as well as in our country. Especially important component is that we as a union have long fought for the ways and manners of how to provide subsistence for the older category of workers, redundant workers, etc. So, the project provides employment for the extremely vulnerable group of older workers, said Mitrevski.
He added that the project provides social and economic security of socially vulnerable and disabled persons through their employment, and also regulate labor market relations.
The President Mitrevski also called employers to use the measures in order jointly to provide decent life of the citizens and workers.
The project was supported by the Organization of Employers of Macedonia, Business Confederation of Macedonia, the Confederation of Free Trade Unions and the Association of the Pensioners of Macedonia.
