At the request of the SGIP Union at the SSM, today the president Ivan Peshevski, the president of the SGIP trade union branch in JP National Forests, Vancho Velkov, had a meeting with the Director of JP National Forests, Valentin Gruevski, and the meeting was attended by other members of the union board.
The meeting was requested to discuss all open issues related to workers' rights, as well as to receive information from management on the state of the public enterprise.
A key request of the employees is through social dialogue, finding a way and means to increase wages, especially in these conditions of high inflation and an increased union minimum basket, as well as for the payment of other wage supplements for which the workers have claims.
The director, Gruevski, informed that in the past six months he closed the debt to the IRS from previous years, which was the biggest obstacle to the regular payment of employees' salaries, and that with the increase in the price of firewood for the first time in 13 years, additional funds are provided in the public company and it will not be led to make an additional loss with every sale of firewood due to the increase in energy prices, and he also emphasized that with the efforts that have been undertaken in the past months, the company is for the first time in a good financial condition without debts to third parties.
The president of SGIP, Peshevski, once again highlighted the request for an increase in the salaries of the employees as the main problem they face due to the fact that salaries have not been increased in this public company for more than 13 years and that it is necessary for these moments to find a way financially to help employees.
It was jointly agreed that from this month, the payment of vacation pay, i.e. K-15 for 2021, will begin, which will be paid in the next few months, and in this way, the employees will receive approximately the same amount as the request for a salary increase, and if the trend of increased production of firewood remains, as well as if the trend and commitment of the director for rational operation through cost reduction and income increase remain, negotiations will begin to increase employee salaries.
The members of the trade union board pointed out other issues and problems to the director, which will be discussed and found a solution through social dialogue as soon as possible.
