Signed Memorandum of Understanding between CCM and SLI

The "new normal", caused by the health crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic, imposed everywhere in the world, including our country, have emphasized the need for fast, efficient and professional action of all entities, in order to ensure functioning and development of the economic and social relations.

In these conditions, it turned out that the social partnership is the only possible solution for creating policies and strategies that all social partners should and must act united with the same goal - national survival and development.

On the occasion of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM) and the State Labor Inspectorate (SLI) stressed that the timely response to the reports from workers gives positive results. The Memorandum aims to promote joint efforts, in order to increase the efficiency and cooperation in the realization, protection and promotion of workers' rights, and especially to provide direct legal protection in reporting violated labor rights, through the use of the new mobile application of CCM: My Labour Rights.

"With its commitment and professional engagement aimed at reducing the consequences of the health crisis on the lives and health of workers and citizens, CCM has proven to be an important part of the social partnership. "Our professional, modern and quick action and ensuring efficient online access for the needs of the membership, provide secure access to labor and existential rights of all workers and citizens, without exception and discrimination," said the President of CCM, Darko Dimovski.

"In a time of global crisis, we are even more committed to fulfilling the basic activity and obligation for which we exist, protection of workers' rights. We are aware that in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, some of the employers and workers found themselves in a difficult situation, for which it is especially important to help them overcome such situations through open cooperation and support with the social partners, in accordance with our competencies.

For that purpose, the State Labor Inspectorate and the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia, supported by the International Labor Organization and the European Union, in the past, have worked on creating an application through which citizens will receive direct information about their rights through their mobile phones, and will have the opportunity to report cases where the law is violated. The mobile application that is being promoted today will be an additional tool for the citizens to report a violation of some of their employment rights or health and safety at work ", said the director of SLI, Jovana Trencevska.

"The International Labor Organization supports activities aimed at full respect for workers' rights and consistent application of international labor standards. The ILO's commitment is a future in which there will be a universal guarantee of employment, ie jobs that respect fundamental rights at work, safety and health at work etc. "I hope that this cooperation between CCM and SLI and the use of the new channel to report violations of workers' rights will contribute to increased trust of workers and respect for their rights," said the national coordinator of the ILO in the country, Emil Krstanovski.

The new mobile application: CCM - My Labour Rights, will enable citizens to report violation of workers' rights, for themselves, for another person or anonymously, through their mobile phone. The mobile application is available for Android and iOS and can be downloaded at the following links:
