SIGNED A NEW COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT IN AD ESM FOR BETTER WORKING CONDITIONS AND EMPLOYEE RIGHTS

AD ESM and the Trade Union Organization in the company signed a new collective agreement which promotes and improves working conditions, as well as the rights of employees.

The agreement was signed by the General Manager of AD ESM, Vasko Kovacevski, MA and the President of the Trade Union of AD ESM, Jove Smilevski.

The new collective agreement brings improvements to the provisions in several areas as a result of  negotiations between the management of AD ESM and the only representative trade union of employees, with the support of SSM and SIER (Trade Union of Industry, Energy and Mining).

The new collective agreement envisages specification of the minimum wage in accordance with the new legal changes, determining the payment of two work allowances per week in accordance with the new legal provisions, additional payments for employees in cases of work responsibilities outside the ones determined by the scope of work, especially for work in expert commissions for investment and other projects, promoting gender equality in relation to certain issues related to solidarity assistance, the possibility for training and professional development of the employees has been improved, especially in profiles that will be more needed in the production process in the future, ie staff for work in facilities from renewable energy sources, then facilitating the possibility for performing student and student practical work in the power plants of AD ESM, etc.

Additionally, in agreement and with the support of the Trade Union, a decision was made to allow employees to self-report for termination of the work process for up to 2 months during the energy crisis, with payment of 70% of monthly salary.

AD ESM remains open for cooperation in the area of trade union organization and opportunities for improving working conditions. The management of AD ESM believes that the purpose of collective agreements is not only to improve the financial condition of employees, but also to have a positive effect on the collective atmosphere in the company, valuing the work and commitment of each individual who performs his duties conscientiously and responsible.

All opinions, needs, demands of the employees in all subsidiaries of AD ESM are taken , with which the company provides the widest possible plenum in which it is discussed for promotion and improvement of the working conditions of the workers.

AD ESM and the Trade Union Organization at the State Power Plants of Northern Macedonia hade signed collective agreements in 2018 and 2020. Each of those documents was better than the previous one and represented an additional improvement of the working conditions of the employees, as well as the benefits from the work engagement in AD ESM. The new collective agreement is the crown of the successful social dialogue that is conducted within the company.
