SSM strongly reacts to the last statement of the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Jagoda Shahpaska published in the media, for delaying the adoption of the legal provisions for regulating the right to make Sunday a non-working day for all employees for January 2022.
SSM as a social partner and representative of the workers has not been consulted about such a delay, and we believe that this important issue must not be decided unilaterally, outside the Economic - Social Council, without exercising of the social dialogue.
We remind that at the last session of the Economic and Social Council, held on February 15, 2021, all social partners agreed that a consensus should be reached.
We expect the negotiations for further regulation of the right for Sunday to be a non-working day for all employees to continue and to complete them as soon as possible, given that the adoption of the Law has already been postponed.
At the same time, we remind the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Jagoda Shahpaska not to put herself above the law because the minimum wage according to the Law on Minimum Wage must be adjusted in March, and not as reported in the media by her statement, that this adjustment of the minimum wage will be postponed for next year, ie for 2022.
