Increasing your wages by 78 percent and dealing with nine of the most disastrous laws for workers, society, and the state. Probably 2,000 denars increased per diem of the deputies greatly influenced them to sit down and prepare two to three articles for each law, and even today, on the "exhaustive" explanation of the need for those laws, they spend one to two sentences each, says Slobodan Trendafilov from The Union of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM), in tonight's "Top Topic" on Telma TV.
"Today, 55 MPs, if I remember correctly, from the ruling majority, several officials from the government, an ambassador, and a few, probably, top managers in some foreign consortia, managed to trample on one of the greatest benefits of civilization, which is a decent job and decent work time," Trendafilov pointed out.
He expressed confidence that, however, reason will prevail among the deputies.
"We have been appealing ever since the adoption of the special law to allow a foreign consortium to occupy the state and the entire construction sector and that the interests of the state be reduced to the fact that the money is taken out of Macedonia, one billion and 300 million euros by today, and it can reach two billion and 300. We hope that reason will prevail among the deputies. Today we hoped that all MPs would come out of the hall and show unity, that the proposal of 15 of their colleagues is, above all, shameful because it not only regresses workers' rights but will also lead to a huge number of injuries, possibly deaths on construction sites," Trendafilov said.
