THE UNION BOARD OF JP NATIONAL FORESTS SKOPJE - SGIP READY TO START NEGOTIATIONS FOR A NEW COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT

On March 23, 2023, the union representatives of SGIP from JP National Forests Skopje made a decision to start negotiations with the employer and sign a new collective agreement in the company that will restore all rights lost so far over the years. Namely, JP National Forests Skopje has more than 1,000 employees, most of whom are employed on the minimum wage. So far, the increase in wages has covered more than 60% of the company's employees and the same will happen with the payment of wages for the month of March 2023, but this is not enough to correct a great injustice toward the rest of the employees who reached the equalization of wages with the rest of the workers who are on the minimum wage. SGIP advocates that no employee is on the minimum wage, because this Law on the payment of the minimum wage guarantees an amount below which no one may be paid, but it should only be a calculated value for a coefficient of 1, and not a salary of more than half employees of the company. For this purpose, at yesterday's meeting, SGIP decided to undertake activities aimed at negotiating a new collective agreement and opening the systematization for all employees, and not only for some of the employees who receive awards and are not part of the production process in the company. The second important issue was the irregular payment of the field allowance as well as the analysis of all the charges of the company to third parties, and not to the employees who contribute daily to the realization of the plan and goals.

SGIP plans to take these steps as the only representative protector of the employees of JP National Forests Skopje and encourages everyone who has not been involved so far to take an active part in it. Our subscription membership is increasing daily and we already have over 500 subscribers signed up in almost all branches. SGIP, as the only representative trade union at the SSM, together with other colleagues, is fighting for the Law on Wages in Administration and for the General Collective Agreement for the Public Sector, documents that will further increase the salary and improve the working conditions of employees in public enterprises.
As agreed at the last meeting between the union SGIP at the SSM and the General Director of JP National Forests, the payment of vacation pay was successfully granted to all employees until the end of 2022 and we expect an increase in the salaries of all employees as it was also promised at the meeting after the increase in the price of firewood.
We are available to jointly improve the conditions of the company's employees only through social dialogue, which if it does not bear fruit, as a union we will have to use our constitutionally guaranteed right to strike.

For the information of all members and employees of the company, the next meeting between the representatives of SGIP and the General Director, at which all issues related to employees and wages will be discussed, will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, on the 10th floor at the SSM, starting at 11 o'clock
