The Union of SOB, demands reward of 10.000 MKD for March, April and May to be paid to all members of the Army for their contribution and engagement during the pandemia of COVID- 19.
The President of SOB, Risto Aitov, on today's press conference informed that a large number of army members are infected with the coronavirus, and a large number are in self-isolation. The Ministry of Defense and the Army are responsible for this situation, he underlined.
He reminded that the members of the Army were engaged in protecting the restricted areas in the municipalities across the country, patrolling and maintaining order, providing vital facilities such as the President, Government and Parliament, monitoring protective measures adopted by the Government, protection of the Penitentiary, control and supervision of the state border, protection of the hotels where the persons were put in state quarantine, giving support of the local self-government and other institutions in the overall effort to prevent the pandemic and eliminate its consequences.
The Trade Union expressed dissatisfaction for, as they pointed out, the poor working conditions and disrespect and reduction of the employment rights of the employees in the MoD and the Army.
