Civil Society in Macedonia shows great interest in participating in all processes of EU integration of Macedonia. Besides the willingness to participate, there are however many different practical problems.

This is one of the conclusions of the workshop held at the EU Info Centre on 16.01.2013, entitled:" Accession to the EU: What is the role of civil society organizations?". Organizers of the discussion were "Balkan Network for the Development of Civil Society” and the "Institute for European support."

The meeting was attended by the President of SSM Zivko Mitrevski, PhD, Secretary General Angelko Angjelkovski and President of the Confederation of Free Trade Unions Mirjana Andreska. Trade Union representatives were interested in the possibilities for participation of labor organizations in the overall process of European integration.

Robert Liddell, Head of Delegation of the EU political issues, justice and home affairs, information and communications, explained that the EU has recognized the need for participation of civil society in the accession process.
