A YEAR HAS PASSED IN WHICH WE FIGHTED AND WE DON'T BEG

PROTESTS AND STRIKES 2024:

1. Support of the SSM for the employees of JSP and SRSVM through a rally held in front of the Skopje City Council on January 23, 2024

· Suspension of the operation of the entire JSP vehicle fleet

· Publicly stated request to all responsible persons in the City of Skopje to adopt an urgent and urgent Decision to provide funds for the payment of the salaries of the employees of JSP.

2. Support of the CSM for the two-hour protest of the Macedonian Post Union and employees of "Macedonian Post" on March 18, 2024

· A prominent request for a change in the long-standing poor personnel policy and management of the Post

· Requests to the Government and the company's management for urgent reform and reorganization of the joint-stock company

· Request for payment of the February salary

· Expressed concern for the survival and future of the company, as well as for preserving the jobs of the workers and ensuring the livelihood of their families

· Criticism of the situation where there is a shortage of workers in the technological process, where workers are most needed, which are mail carriers, counter workers and other workers, and on the other hand, over employment in the administrative sector of the company.

· Requests for the preparation of a new systematization, a new collective agreement, regionalization of postal regions, technological modernization, as well as amendments to the Law on Postal Services, better working conditions and means of work

· Request for resolving the status of contractual postmen who have been working for years without health insurance and for a minimum wage

· Increase in salary and regular payment

3. Protest of the SSM on April 2nd in front of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Macedonia, as a reaction to the illegal attempt to seize the SSM- Workers' House with the scandalous Judgment of the judges of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Macedonia

· Protest of the close leadership of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (CSM) in front of the Supreme Court building

· A clear demand for the immediate restoration of the rule of law in the country and the functioning of a legal state

· Request for the preservation of the property of the Union that comes from union membership fees and immediate annulment of the decision that allowed the oligarchs and state representatives to illegally seize the Workers' House, as well as a request for its immediate return to the rightful owner, i.e. the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia.

4. Joint protest of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia and the Independent Trade Union for Health, Pharmacy and Social Protection of the Republic of Macedonia together with the members - healthcare employees on April 8, 2024

· The protest began in front of the Workers' House and ended in front of the Ministry of Health

· Expression of dissatisfaction with the non-signing of the Annex to the Collective Agreement for the healthcare sector, prepared by the Independent Trade Union for Health, which should increase the salaries of all employees in the sector

· Request for an appropriate increase in employee coefficients under the increased cost of living

· A prominent message for a larger and more numerous protest if the demands are not met.

· Call of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia for participation in the large workers' protest on May 1st of all workers who did not receive an adjustment of their salaries to the increase in the minimum wage

5. Support of the SCM for the Protest for the salaries of workers from Makedonski Šumi and SGIP on April 17, 2024

· Protest of employees in 30 branches of PE "National Forests" in front of the company's management

· Highlighted request for payment of salaries and payment of field allowances to 1,800 employees

· Highlighted criticism of the company's management and the Government of the Republic of Macedonia for irrational spending of millions of sums when funds are not provided for the salaries of workers

· Highlighted criticism of the bad practice of seasonal employment of 10 months a year and a request for employees to work 12 months, receive a salary and have their contributions paid regularly

· Highlighted message for a greater and enumerated as well as for radicalizing the protest if the demands are unmet.

6. Support of the CCM for the Protest organized by the Trade Union of Culture of the Republic of Macedonia on April 19, 2024

· Request for payment of the March salary under the Collective Agreements

· A clear call for continuous and unhindered implementation and respect for the Collective Agreement for Culture as well as demands of all cultural workers to obtain all rights due to them under the above-mentioned Collective Agreement.

· The obstruction of the Collective Agreement for Culture must stop immediately!

7. Support of the CCM for the Protest for Salary organized by Agro-Sindikat/ Agro-Sindikat and the Trade Union Organization of AD Vodostopanstvo on April 19, 2024

· Protest in front of the management of AD Vodostopanstvo and also in all 14 subsidiaries of this joint-stock company

· Request for the transfer of funds for salaries and expenses for fuel, electricity and spare parts in order to prepare and maintain the irrigation and drainage canals, pipelines for the delivery of raw water

· Request for the payment of the March salary

Highlighting the problem of non-payment of water services by the user municipalities that owe millions of dollars

8. SSM's support for the UPOZ Trade Union and the protest of employees in the Health Insurance Fund on April 30, 2024

· Request to adjust the salaries of 830 employees in accordance with the increase in the minimum wage

· Request to adopt a Decision confirming the current value of the point for employees' salaries

· Despite the strike held in February, the demands have not been met

· Announcement of the reactivation of The Strike

9. MAJOR WORKERS' PROTEST ON MAY 1

· The May Day protest began at 11 am in front of the Workers' House, where more than 5,000 members of the unions affiliated with SSM, members of the unions affiliated with KSOM, activists and fighters for workers' rights, workers, pensioners and citizens gathered.

· Starting in front of the Workers' House, then continuing towards the Parliament, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and ending in front of the Government.

· Publicly expressed criticism and reaction to everything that has been happening in the past period in which an attempt was made through the court to put pressure on the unions to destroy them, in which an official's boot was allowed on the neck of the workers to silence them and encourage humility

· A prominent message that the unions, workers, citizens, pensioners are here today to show and convey to those who try to harm us that the more they attack us and try to destroy the unions, the stronger they make us.

10. Support of the SCM for the Salary Protest of the Macedonian Post Union and the employees of the "Post of North Macedonia" on May 22, 2024

· Request for payment of salaries as well as expression of revolt and concern for the future of the company and for the preservation of the jobs of the workers, due to the huge financial crisis and the poor organization of work

· Request for an end to the partisan personnel policy that has destroyed the Macedonian Post

· Announcement of a strike

11. Support of the SCM for the former employees of FENI INDUSTRIES and the Representatives of the Union for Industry, Energy and Mining (SIER) on June 3, 2024.

· SCM with the support of SIER in the negotiations with the new owner of the former "Feni" in Kavadarci, with the aim of securing greater workers' rights.

· Negotiations for around 800 employees who worked for the former giant

· Formation of a committee for salary negotiations, from the management staff, the union, human resources, in order to take all aspects into account and reach an agreement

12. Support of the SCM for the Protest of the Independent Trade Union for Education and Science (NSON) for an increase in salaries in the education sector on September 2, 2024.

• A prominent request by NSON for respect for collective agreements.

• NSON continues to be the sole protector of the rights and reputation of educational workers with a request for an increase in salaries in line with the increase in the minimum wage.

STRIKES:

1. SSM's support for the Union of Workers' and Employees of the Health Insurance Fund (HIZF) for the announced and implemented Strike starting on February 2, 2024

· The reason is the adopted Conclusion of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, which recommends that the HIZF Board of Directors reduce employee salaries by 21%

· Danger of employees being paid a salary below the minimum wage, which is contrary to the Law on Minimum Wage

· Request for payment of employees' salaries with the agreed increase of 15%.

2. SSM's support for the Union for Construction, Industry and Design (SGIP) and the employees of "National Forests" for the announced and implemented Strike starting from March 7, 2024

· Decision for a Strike of all branches in 30 cities in the country of "National Forests".

· Strike for the payment of the two arrears of salaries as well as for the regular payment of salaries in the future, and part of the demands are the payment of the field allowance, as well as the payment of other salary supplements determined by Law and Collective Agreement

· Announcement of the duration of the Strike until the rights are realized, which is the timely payment of salary with all supplements!

· Announcements for Protests as part of the Strike.

3. SSM's support for the Union of UPOZ and the employees of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MANU) for the announced and implemented Strike starting on September 3, 2024

· Resuming the Strike after the signed Agreement to put the strike that took place in 2023 on hold, due to non-fulfilment of the workers' demands even though the employer agreed to them

· Request to increase the salaries of the employees

· Request to stop exerting pressure on the employees who are striking and to stop the threats of their dismissal from their jobs if the strike continues

· Request to fulfill the obligation undertaken by the employer, i.e. to sign the Collective Agreement, as well as to make amendments and supplements to the Law on MANU to finally resolve the problem with salaries.
