Panel Discussion of the Unions affiliated in CCM on the topic: COVID-19 to be recognized as an occupational disease for all workers

Today, the representatives of the trade unions affiliated in CCM, together with the Secretary of the Council of CCM, Zlatko Cvetkovski and the members of the National Council for Safety and Health at Work from CCM, Kiro Trajkovski, Ivan Peshevski, Mico Stojanovski and Igor Gerasov, participated in a panel discussion organized by Federation of Trade unions of Macedonia regarding the World Day for Safety and Health at work on which they discussed the demand of CCM: COVID-19 to be recognised as an occupational disease for all workers.

CCM requires joint integrated action of the social partners, the scientific, professional public and the civil sector, because healthy and safe working conditions require a multidisciplinary approach to problem solving.

We need an effective actions, regular control of authorised inspection bodies in order to detect irregularities in due time, to find solutions that will improve OHS working conditions, in accordance with the international standards and recommendations, especially when it comes to the current state of protection and control of the infectious disease caused by the Covid- 19 pandemic.

At the same time, the Council of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia yesterday at its session adopted a decision to submit a request to the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and the Ministry of Health with a request COVID-19 to be recognised as an occupational disease for all workers and workers to receive 100% salary.
