Today, on the occasion of the celebration of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, the Union of SGIP have marked this day by signing Declarations between the TU representatives and employers.
Never before the Occupational safety and health has been as important as it is today. Healthy and safe jobs are a significant contribution that employers, unions and workers need to give as a global action for fighting with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Due to the pandemic, we have faced new and unprecedented challenges in maintaining productivity while remaining safe. Many employers have recognized that providing a safe and healthy workplace makes economic sense. The unions have acknowledged that workers are the ones who take the virus and safety and health seriously, but many workers do not have the conditions to work safely, so this poses a significant risk of ending the pandemic and restoring social and economic stability around the world.
The Union of SGIP recognizes that all stakeholders need to work together to resolve this health crisis, and thus be able to have a significant and long-term impact on the health and safety of all workers. Therefore, we appeal to all workers and employers to join us in our work to achieve health and safety for all.
Untill now, on the occasion of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, April 28, the Union of SGIP has signed four declarations between union representatives and their employers, and they will be sent and shared with the EFBWW and the BWI.
